Full description

Try out authentic delicacies as you immerse yourself in the local culture of Rome on a walking tour. Taste unmissable Roman foods such as pizza from a family-run establishment, Supplì (fried mozzarella rice balls), and typical seasonal dishes from Rome’s Jewish Quarter. Meet in Piazza del Biscione before whetting your appetite at a local charcuterie at your first stop. Sample some typical Italian cured meats and some local wine there.

Then head off to try Rome's well-known tasty street food, Supplì. Your guide will fill you in on these rice delicacies' 19th-century beginnings and how they earned their name. Next, taste some classic Roman pizza and Menabrea beer at Roscioli, an establishment run by the founder’s grandchildren.

After this, you’ll be heading to the Roman Ghetto, Rome’s old Jewish Quarter. Here, sample traditional zucchini flower fritters or carciofi alla giudìa (deep-fried artichokes), depending on what is in season at the time. Finish up the tour with a delicious artisanal gelato at Punto Gelato near Largo di Torre Argentina, the site of four ancient Roman Temples and Pompey’s Theater. Savor the unique northern Italian flavors at a gelateria that featured in Gambero Rosso’s Top 10 list of the best gelato in Rome.  Choose from either a private experience just for your group or a small-group experience. Really enjoyed this tour. Max, our guide, was charming, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about his city and its food. All the food was great, and I really enjoyed hearing the stories behind it. Especially enjoyed the trip to the norcinaria (salami etc shop) that’s been run by a family for generations, and which showed the variety and skill of the business. I returned to the restaurant in the Jewish quarter Max showed us, for a full meal the next day! I would highly recommend the tour.

Claudia was amazing. Her knowledge was incredible but more than that she included everyone in the group and made them feel really welcome. My son and I really enjoyed the walk, the food, the chat - it was the best way to end our magical trip to the wonder that is Rome. Thank you Claudia from Sophie and Archie

This was one of the best things I did in Rome. The food was amazing, and Eleanor our guide was fantastic, she was friendly and full of information and conversation. Would highly recommend this! Especially at the start of your stay in Rome, you'll know where to get the best food all week!
